These serving sizes are most commonly used for sides and soups. A half-pint serving is approximately 1 cup and is a great side serving for one. A one-pint serving is approximately 2 cups. This would be one hearty serving of soup or stew or would serve 2-3 people as a side dish. One quart is approximately 4 cups. This is 2-3 servings of soup or stew and 4-6 servings as a side dish.

If you are a woman trying to loose weight you may want to try the 375-500 calorie portion meals with or without the additional sides of whole grains or starches. While an active man might be most benefited by 600 calorie portion meals with an additional side of whole grains or starches. Of course, your age, exercise habits, and natural metabolism are all factors that you might want to discuss with your nutritionist when determining your personal health goals.

Family style servings are approximate serving sizes for small groups (or someone who prefers to have left-overs!) "Small" family style entrees will feed 2-3 people. "Medium" family style entrees will feed 3-4 people. "Large" family style entrees will feed 4-5 people.
